ADVANCED PLAYER CAMP WITH FREE HEALTHY LUNCH...

As part of Elite Soccer Academy’s continuing commitment to the complete player development, our first summer camp dedicated to the advanced players was held at Gaines Park in West Palm Beach June 20th through June 24th. Dusko Piljic, our Director of Player Development, put together a program that was both challenging and great fun for all of the boys and girls that attended. The camp curriculum included technical training and small-sided games on the pitch, time in the swimming pool to cool off and have some fun, and indoor “street soccer” style games played in the gymnasium. Along with all of this, the children were provided with free healthy meals each afternoon which included a discussion about proper nutrition and hydration for athletes. Based on the information provided, all of the kids that attended pledged to eat healthier and avoid “junk” foods that may inhibit their development. When you put this great environment of fun and learning together with the commitment and hard work from the coaches/kids, we had all of the ingredients for success both on and off the pitch! We look forward to continuing to offer opportunities for the development of our boys and girls. Please continue to check our website for upcoming camps and programs offered and become a part of the Elite Soccer Academy family!

PROFESSIONAL SOCCER CLUB "FORT LAUDERDALE STRIKERS", VISITED ELITE SOCCER ACADEMY

As part of our focus at Elite Soccer Academy on player development and nurturing a love for soccer, we feel that it is vitally important for our boys and girls to be exposed to this beautiful game at all levels. It gives them the chance to see the game in a new way and helps to show them where soccer can take them. With this in mind, we have continued to organize this season many opportunities for our kids to meet and interact with men's and women's college and professional soccer organizations and even to meet Hall of Famer Alexi Lalas!

This past Friday night (4/29) at our popular Street Soccer event, Elite Soccer Academy was thrilled to have as our guest a representative from the Ft. Lauderdale Strikers, Mr. Graham Greytak. Graham was kind enough to join us and share information about the Strikers Football Club and to help us organize an Elite Soccer Academy trip on May 14th to watch our Ft. Lauderdale Strikers take on their in-state rivals, the Tampa Bay Rowdies. As a result, we will have over 100 members of our Elite Soccer Academy family at the game and our kids will have the chance to participate in an "on-field" experience during the game! If for some reason you were unable to attend, but would like to join us on May 14th for the game, you can contact Graham at (954)606-0413 to secure your tickets. Be sure to mention that you are with Elite Soccer Academy.

Thank you Graham and thanks to the entire Elite family for making this event such a success!

LIONS U10 WHITE CHAMPIONS

U-9 WHITE, EARNED THEIR FIRST TOURNAMENT FINAL !

Our Elite Academy U-9 division White team played exceptionally well in attending their first tournament. In our first game it was visibly clear the team was communicating and taking control of the game. The team came together instinctively while understanding their individual positions and all players shined the defensive applied pressure and protected their goal, the mid fielders defended and passed the ball forward left and right while our forwards created space to receive the ball and score goals. Our goalie remained focused while his teammates kept the ball on the opposite end of the field. The boys had lots of fun and left the field feeling confident and ready for their next game. The outcome of game 1 Elite Academy -7 / Palm Beach Academy -3

Game two the boys continued the momentum against Wellington. Our first half started strong paving the way for our second half to follow and they did. The boys noticed from the previous game what it took to earn a win and they stayed focused. Team moral was high and they showed their excitement on the field. Determination and perseverance resulted in another victory Elite -8 / Wellington -0

Game three followed 3 hours after game 2 and was more challenging; the opponents were bigger, faster and very aggressive. This forced our players to make quick technical decisions and required physical endurance. Never the less our boys remained positive and played another great game against the odds. Final score Elite -1
Kicks -5

The Championship game on the following day was exciting not only for our players, and coaches but for the parents and spectators as well. The boys desired a rematch and an opportunity to play against their victors. Discussing the previous game, this allowed the coaches and the team to analyze the game from a strategic perspective and make changes accordingly. Inviting new opportunities and learning while gaining game experience. Final results Elite -1 / Kicks -2
Elite Academy U-9 White team winning their first trophy for second place and looking forward to putting what they learn in practice into games.

WINNING VS. PLAYER DEVELOPMENT

Elite Soccer Academy's coaching philosophy was implemented and displayed during our U-8 teams game last Wednesday against Okeeheelee.

For the first time, our U-8 boys competed against U-9/U10 age group.  The boys were clearly dominated by size, speed, coordination and technique.  It was imperative for them to adjust their playing abilities and skills while also being able to adapt to the game environment with a dominant opponent.

Elite Soccer Academy stresses the importance of focus and a positive mindset.  We prepare before every game by setting our  "Goals", as stated by Dusko Piljic, Director of Player Developement.  Our goal for this particular game against  an older and more experienced team was to "Win".  We define winning as trying hard, adjusting to the game environment, adapting and applying pressure against much bigger players.  As this is our philosophy, the outcome of the game in regards to the score is irrelevent.  Emphasis is placed on the player's long term development and improvement both individually and as a team.

Mistakes are seen as a necessary part of the learning process and efforts are recognized and rewarded.  When our team scored a goal against the faster, bigger and more skillfull players it was considered a "Success".  Having had less playing experience and facing more intense pressure our boys were challenged to play outside their comfort zone.  Their success was measured in their ability to adjust to circumstances which they had never faced prior to this game.

Before the start of each game Elite Soccer Academy teaches the child to enter the game and play free of any fear as this allows them to concentrate more on their personal best while playing.  At the conclusion of each game, regardless of the score, we stress the importance of the power of positive thinking for both the players and their parents.  This positive energy will reinforce their eagerness to play as well as the confidence they need when being faced with a more dominant opponent.

MISSION STATEMENT

As a professionally run and volunteer-based not for profit organization, the PRIMARY GOAL of Elite Soccer Academy is to DEVELOP all players with different abilities to their fullest potential creating an environment that promotes confidence and dedication.
The Academy is committed to provide each player with a challenging but rewarding experience that supports spotsmanship and teamwork, creating entrance into a lifetime of soccer and sports participation.

Objectives of Academy development will emphasis on teaching the technical, tactical, physical and psychological components of the game.

WHAT IS PLAYER DEVELOPMENT?

The concept of player development is essential to the long-term growth and improvement of the player. Player development demands that "the player is central" to all decisions made regarding training and competition
